Launch

For foster care alumni who exit without connections.

20,000 young adults age out of foster care at age 18

They turn 18, and they’re often on their own with little or no support.

Launch focuses on next steps for a happy, healthy life. Whether it’s applying for a job, considering higher education, learning how to budget, or making meaningful connections, Chosen is here to help.

20,000

youth age out of foster care every year.

50%

of those youth will be unemployed.

25%

will be homeless by age 21.

WE WANT TO WRITE A DIFFERENT STORY

We are helping at-risk youth aging of foster care

While the goal of foster care is for every child to have a home, that doesn’t always happen. Thousands of teens are living in group settings, treatment centers, and even hotels. And they’re at risk of becoming adults without healthy family ties. That’s why Chosen created Launch—to provide services specifically for this at-risk population.

LAUNCH provides services specifically for young adults

With the right support, teens aging out can launch into adulthood and thrive

By matching foster care alumni with our coaches, we help at-risk young adults build attachments and meaningful connections for a safe place to land.

It’s established science that trauma negatively impacts brain development. Our Chosen Coaches overlap the “Five Developmental Domains”—social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language—with the “Seven Life Domains” which are areas where foster care alums may need extra help during this transition into adulthood. This critical overlap matches developmental stage with the appropriate services for a future of independence and success.

We want to make sure you LAUNCH and have support on the ground too.
