Julie is passionate about helping to improve the lives of children and families in the child welfare system. While serving as Chief Development Officer of Respite Care of San Antonio, she learned about the devastating lifelong impact of child maltreatment through children in the agency’s shelters and families in Respite Care’s Foster Care Program. Motivated by strong faith, Julie is dedicated to helping children heal from trauma by strengthening their families.
As Mission Advancement Director, Julie will lead the Mission Advancement Team and advance Chosen’s strategic development and marketing goals. She will secure resources to achieve mission success, cultivate relationships and community partnerships, and manage grants, marketing, and fundraising initiatives.
Julie brings more than 20 years of business experience and four years of nonprofit senior leadership experience to Chosen. For Respite Care, she managed grants, fundraising, annual appeals, special events, donor relations, and marketing. As Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing for InGenesis, she helped grow revenues from three million to more than 100 million dollars annually. She also expanded revenues and lines of business for Cherokee Nation Healthcare Services while serving as Director of Business Development.
Julie’s career also includes positions with Accenture, LEXIS/NEXIS, and the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Her diverse experience spans fields, such as operational excellence, human resources, technology, law, program management, supply chain, and information services. Julie holds a Masters in political science from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law. She attended Codeup and the San Antonio Development Leadership Academy. Julie is a member of the Rotary Club and supports local children’s nonprofits and human services agencies. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family, including two sons and a cat.
