Yolanda Valdez

Care Manager

Yolanda is committed to helping children and families heal from trauma by ensuring families have access to intervention services that strengthen family systems.  As a Care Manager and Intake Specialist at Chosen, her roles directly support the organization’s goal to bring hope, help, and healing to families who have been touched by the child welfare system.

Yolanda joined Chosen in 2022 as an intern through her MSW program. She is a bilingual retired U.S. Air Force Veteran, with experience in healthcare administration and international student affairs. In her time in the Air Force, Yolanda spent 6 years as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response trainer and victim advocate. This experience motivated her to continue to help families heal from trauma, and inspired her commitment to the disruption of generational trauma cycles by empowering families with skills to help them heal, connect and thrive.

Yolanda holds an AAS in Healthcare Administration from the Community College of the Air Force, a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M – San Antonio and is currently completing her master’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University.

She is a proud mother of an outstanding young man. In her free time, Yolanda loves spending time with her family and friends, and enjoys reading, traveling and spending time outdoors.
