David was born in Albuquerque and raised in San Antonio by his mother and father who both served for the Air Force.
His Parents are Founders and owners of La Prensa De San Antonio. David has two brothers Tino, and Steve and two sisters, Margie and Nina all in San Antonio except eldest sister Margie.
David graduated at Oliver Wendall Holmes High School and received his degree at University of Michigan, UT Austin.
David Duran retired from H-E-B after a 49-year career. He most recently served as H-E-B’s Business Unit Director for Grocery Procurement for Beverage, Breakfast, and International Business
He is referred to as HEB’s “wine guy” as seen on HEB Wine Television commercial and has held several leadership positions throughout career, won numerous people leadership, people development and Spirit of HEB awards.
David has also served on numerous boards and or supported, SA Children’s Shelter, United Way Allocations Committee, United Way Loaned Executive, Alzheimer’s Association, Muscular Dystrophy and more.
He is a Member Oak Hills Christian Church, and in his spare time, he is an avid reader, classic car collector and restorer, and enjoys fitness, racquetball and tennis.
David is married to high school sweetheart Norma 40 years, two beautiful daughters, Danielle Nicole working on Pharmacy degree, Sarah Michelle, Television reporter for KAVU and has two beautiful grandsons, madly in love with, David Christian 9 and Tyler Landon 5.
