Blake is a Senior Program Manager at Chosen. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a master’s degree obtained from The University of Missouri Kansas City, where she was a National Child Welfare Workforce Initiative trainee/scholarship recipient. Her passion for helping children and families started when she was able to work with families throughout multiple phases of the child welfare system. She developed a passion for trauma-informed care during her graduate program when she learned about how trauma can impact a child and their development.
Blake has worked in child abuse/neglect investigations, at an adoption agency with both birth and adoptive parents, and in an urban city hospital on the Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, and Pediatric units. Her experience has allowed her to work with diverse populations throughout various stages of life. No matter the stage, she saw a gap with providers and families, understood the importance of how trauma impacts a child, and the necessity of providing trauma-informed care. Blake is excited to broaden her knowledge of trauma-informed care and focus her career on Chosen’s mission of helping children heal by strengthening their families.
Blake is married to her husband Zack; they have one cat named Capt. Olivia Benson. Blake enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and reading.
