The Marlar Story

We planned to build our family our way, in our timing. God took that plan and made it better than we could have dreamed. We’ve learned so much through infertility and adoption — who we are, and more importantly, who God is. We know that His promises are true. 

It’s humbling and scary to start the adoption process. We were not prepared financially for all the expenses. After reviewing adoption agency fees, we were discouraged, thinking we might never be able to start our family. Stepping out in faith, we were challenged to trust that God would truly provide for us in what He was calling us to do. And He did, through Chosen!   

Through the “Prettiest Race in Texas,” Chosen bridged our financial gap in a way we never thought possible. It was exciting to see daily additions to our team, right up until race day. We were blown away by how generous our friends and family were! The support encouraged us in a beautiful way. 

We first saw Judah’s face five hours after his birth. After running through the halls of the hospital, we finally saw him in the nurses’ station, wrapped in a blanket with a little blue hat on his head. We both started crying tears of joy and praising God for getting us to this day! 

Every time we look at our two adopted children, we can’t help but smile knowing that God has truly blessed us and built our family just the way He wanted it. And every time we think about all that Chosen did for us and continues to do for others, we just have to praise God! He is good!
