Leading Nonprofit’s Goal to Raise Funds to Help Strengthen Family Connections

San Antonio, TX, September 20-21, 2023 – Chosen, a leading nonprofit helping children heal from trauma by strengthening their families, has unveiled its “Break the Cycle” initiative. Timed alongside the 10th anniversary of The Big Give, a 24-hour online fundraising event, and marks the start of Chosen’s considerable year-end fundraising goal of $300,000. Over the past 10 years, The Big Give has generated over $40 million for nonprofit organizations in South Central Texas. This year, Chosen is leveraging the event’s momentum to support its “Break the Cycle” initiative, which aims to strengthen and expand Chosen’s impactful child and family well-being work.

Chosen is recognized for its exceptional 99-percent success rate in keeping families together. The organization is dedicated to breaking the cycle of despair often found in the child welfare system—replacing it with a path toward hope and stability. The “Break the Cycle” campaign will provide essential funding to enhance Chosen’s ability to offer therapeutic, educational, and supportive services to those families in need.

CEO of Chosen, Jenni Lord, shared, “Through this campaign, we can extend our reach, helping more families and preventing the devastating cycles of trauma. With community support, we will help create healthier families for generations to come.”

Chosen invites everyone to participate in any way they can—contributing to Chosen’s mission of helping children, youth, and families heal from trauma through healthy relationships.

“Our ‘Break the Cycle’ initiative is a testament to our commitment to positive change. With each step we take, and every family we empower, we’re forging a stronger, more resilient community for the future,” says Vice President of National Advancement Jared Brown.

With the launch of “Break the Cycle,” Chosen reaffirms its commitment to breaking harmful patterns within child welfare. Chosen aims to expand its reach and assist more families in healing and thriving together with support from individuals and corporations.
