Chair Emeritus

Dennis E. Noll, a seasoned member of San Antonio’s corporate community, joined the San Antonio Area Foundation as President and Chief Executive Officer in May of 2011 and retired as CEO on January 1st of 2018. Dennis retired from Kinetic Concepts, Inc., in 2007 after 15 years with the company, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Prior to joining KCI, Dennis was a partner at Cox Smith, where he chaired the firm’s Corporate and Securities Department for six years. During the past 25 years, Dennis has served on the boards of more than a dozen charities and two foundations. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law School in 1980.

His wife, Martie, has a passion for helping people through grief. She conducts seminars, workshops and gives one-on-one grief coaching.  She also loves inspirational speaking and writing.

Dennis and Martie met and married in New Orleans and recently celebrated their 30thanniversary. They have been active members of Oak Hills Church for 25 years. With a shared love for India, they have traveled there many times, focusing on orphanages.

They have two wonderful children, Tom and Emily; a wonderful daughter-in-law, Penelope; a wonderful son-in-law Ricky; and two beautiful grandchildren, Clara and Theodore.  Their dog, Peekaboo, is cute, but rarely wonderful.
