Cassandra Salazar believes that every child deserves the opportunity to lead a healthy, fulfilling life, and she is passionate about making this vision a reality. Her role at Chosen directly plays into that passion; as Mission Advancement Director, she fortifies the organization through fundraising and the cultivation of authentic relationships, so that vulnerable children touched by the child welfare system have access to essential services.

Cassandra joined the Chosen team in 2020 and has her degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout her career in fundraising and development, Cassandra has worked and volunteered with organizations with a mission to serve vulnerable children and their families.

Cassandra has extensive experience in grant writing, major gift solicitation, and event planning. Prior to her career with Chosen, she launched several successful annual campaigns, orchestrated yearly fundraising events and learning seminars, and led a multi-year capital campaign.

Currently, Cassandra serves on the board of AFP San Antonio and volunteers with multiple local organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Junior League of San Antonio. She has a deep appreciation for the work that nonprofits do throughout her community and strives to be an active supporter of organizations with proven results. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time hiking, reading, running, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
