John is a Care Manager for Chosen. He is trained in both Family Functional Therapy and Trauma Systems Therapy. John graduated Cum Laude from Queens College with a bachelor’s degree in both Psychology and Sociology. He has spent his career serving children, families, and working with parents from a multitude of different backgrounds. John is excited to use what he has learned to help strengthen families by helping their children deal with the trauma they have faced. John is currently pursuing his master’s in social work and has a passion for working with families. He believes the best way to help a family is by highlighting how important working together is.

John has a history of working in preventative services with families that are involved in the New York City Child Welfare system and has worked directly with them by going to their homes and providing services. He has also worked in schools providing counseling, peer mediation, and running social-emotional workshops for children and young adults. At his most recent position, John was facilitating conferences between his contracted agency and families involved with New York City’s Child Protective Services. He helped these families by creating action plans to fit their specific needs, developed safety plans, and guiding them through the child welfare system.

John was born and raised in New York City and is Dominican American. He grew up spending his summers in the Dominican Republic and competing in track and field. He ran for over 10 years and even got to run on a team in the Dominican Republic. Now in his free time, he focuses on personal training and swimming.
