Mark Carmona is a visionary and collaborative executive leader with over 27 years’ experience in the non-for-profit human & behavioral health services fields. A high level of Emotional Intelligence, multidisciplinary team development, and strategic planning ability that translates into high levels of employee engagement, alignment of collaborative partner resources and direction, internal and external team success and systemic change. A proven fundraiser with significant experience in community mobilization techniques and developing public policy. Experienced in developing and implementing legislative initiatives at the city, county and state levels.
Most recently, Mark was the President & CEO at Haven for Hope of Bexar County. Haven for Hope is a nationally acknowledged Center for Excellence for people experiencing homelessness. He led the introduction and expansion of a recovery focused addiction treatment program and the establishment of a recovery focused mental health treatment program. Additionally, the use of peer recovery specialists with shared experience was an innovative and effective strategy in meeting mission and a first of its kind.
Prior to his position at Haven for Hope, he worked as the Deputy CEO of The Center for Health Care Services, the Executive Director at ChildSafe, and as Grants Manager at the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation. Mark Carmona received his Executive MBA in 2007 from the University of Texas-San Antonio.
He is currently the Managing Member of Top Drawer Property Solutions, LLC and is married to Elizabeth Valdivia Carmona with two sons, Marcos and Aaron.
