Allison Billodeau

Board Member

Allison Billodeau has served in the Texas government for nearly 19 years. She spent the first 13 years working for both rural and urban members of the Texas House of Representatives. During that time, she filled many roles, but most prominently she was a Chief of Staff, including advising the Sunset Commission’s review of the Department of Family and Protective Services, as well as the Appropriations Committee for the agency’s budget.

She spent three years working in Governor Abbott’s Budget and Policy Office on health and child welfare issues and was promoted to Deputy Legislative Director in 2017 through late 2018. There she served as the front-line communicator between the Governor’s office and House and Senate membership on these critical issues. During her time in Governor Abbott’s office, she led efforts to increase the number of conservatorship workers to ensure the timely visit to at-risk children, increase supportive funding to kinship caregivers, as well as to establish Community Based Care for the child welfare system in Texas. She was also Governor Abbott’s appointee to the Supreme Court of Texas Children’s Commission and the State Child Fatality Review Committee.

She is now a private-sector advocate for several private companies, as well as the association representing foster care providers across the state. Allison lives in Dripping Springs, Texas with her husband, Justin, and two sons.
