On Demand Access Available Nov 13-Nov 27, 2024Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB) in children, especially those in foster care or adoptive situations, can create profound stress for caregivers and support networks. Many parents and caregivers lack the necessary skills and training to manage these challenging behaviors effectively. The Displacing Shame training series is designed to address this critical gap by providing trauma-responsive, practical education tailored to the needs of caregivers.
Join us for Level 101, the foundation of the Displacing Shame series, which addresses the critical knowledge gap by providing crucial training and resources for faith organizations, child welfare administrators, residential care staff, and foster/adoptive parents. This training goes beyond traditional risk prevention, offering a deeper understanding of both typical and problematic sexual behaviors, exploring the root causes of PSB, debunking common myths, and emphasizing the importance of empathetic, trauma-informed responses.
What Will I Learn?
- Definition and prevalence of PSB in children.
- Distinctions between normal sexual behavior and PSB.
- Risk factors and misconceptions of PSB.
- Effective responses and intervention strategies.
