Katie Mercadante

Care Manager

Katie has been a passionate advocate and determined worker for child and adolescent health, wellness, and safety for over 20 years. Her previous professional experiences include: teaching drowning prevention lessons for infants and children, coaching CrossFit and CrossFit Kids, providing endurance racing and run technique seminars, and human resources management and team building.

She is a graduate of Stetson University with her Masters of Science in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy, a certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a certificate in Play and Expressive Arts Therapy. Katie began her therapeutic work focused on serving adolescents and families in the foster care system at a group home, and continued working with children and families at a private practice mental health agency. She has received ongoing training in adoption competency, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prepare/Enrich, suicide prevention, and multicultural competency.

Katie has been a Chosen advocate for a decade. As an individual with several personal connections to adoption, she recognizes the uniqueness of the adoptive experience and the needs for systemic support of adoptees and their families.

She is married with two sons, two dogs, and a passion for running half and full marathons and helping others run.
