Two Rivers Running Undertakes Operations and Management of Chosen Half Marathon
- After a 2-year hiatus, The Prettiest Race in Texas® resumes on November 20, 2022
- Renamed the Two Rivers Half, the course will remain on River Road
New Braunfels, TX – April 5, 2022 – Two Rivers Running, a store that provides running and fitness products and services, has assumed operations of the former Chosen Half Marathon, known as The Prettiest Race in Texas®. As the new race director, Two Rivers Running will undertake full responsibility for the half marathon, as well as the 5K and kids’ events, now known as The Two Rivers Half. Chosen Care, Inc., “Chosen” will continue to be the primary beneficiary of the race.
“After the pandemic hiatus, we are delighted that Two Rivers Running has agreed to resume the operations of the race so the Chosen team can focus on our primary mission to help children heal from trauma.” said Jenni Lord, Chosen’s CEO. “We have full confidence that they will continue to provide runners with the best possible experience while raising awareness for vulnerable children and families.”
“We are thrilled to acquire this meaningful and beautiful race in the heart of the Texas Hill Country,” said Michelle Blomstedt, owner, Two Rivers Running. “While the name of the event is changing, race participants and supporters will be pleased to know that the breath-taking half marathon course will remain on River Road and that Chosen will continue to be the beneficiary.”
This year’s event will take place on November 20, 2022.
Founded in 2010, the Chosen Half Marathon attracted thousands of athletes in its first 10 years looking to run along the scenic course along River Road. All finishers will be treated to finisher medals, great food, and entertainment. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go directly to Chosen to support their mission.
