On Demand Access: May 14th - May 28th, 2025Understanding Big Behaviors: Brain-Based Insights helps parents understand and support the development of executive function (EF) skills in children who have experienced trauma. EF skills, which include planning, focused attention, remembering instructions, and managing multiple tasks can be significantly impacted by trauma, leading to various behavioral and cognitive challenges. These challenges often feel to caregivers and professionals like willful defiance, causing them to respond with anger and punishments. This training provides insights to help recognize poor executive function as the root cause of many frustrating behaviors and offers practical strategies to support children and youth to build strong EF skills, thereby reducing frustration and distress for both children and caregivers.

Meet The Presenter
Bethany Hall, MSN, FNP-C, Bethany Hall is a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Complex Developmental Trauma. She has lived experience as a missionary and foster/adoptive mom as well as extensive experience training nonprofit organizations, foster and adoptive families, educators, social workers, and others. She has been married to her husband, Kevin, for 17 years and they have 3 children at home (biological and adopted). She is also Tia to many young adults, now starting their own families.
